Darren has lived in Arizona for 30 plus years. He is an avid outdoorsman and a freelance outdoor writer and photographer. The majority of his childhood years were spent in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona. After serving his country in the US Air Force, Darren returned to Arizona to attend Northern Arizona University, where he earned a Bachelors of Environmental Science and a Masters of Education. Happily married, he and his wife have two wonderful sons, and call Flagstaff, Arizona their home.
"My Dad gave me my first SLR camera shortly after I graduated from high school. At the time, understanding aperture and shutter-speed was over my head. Later in life, I became more interested in photography and taught myself how to capture images creatively. I have switched entirely to digital now. During my outings, I always have my camera in hand -- searching for that 'shot-of-a-lifetime.' I enjoy capturing scenic, story-telling images, and then sharing those images with others." - Darren
